igus® gantry robots, also known as cartesian or linear robots, consist of two base X-axes, a Y-axis, and an optional Z-axis. Their self-lubricating plastic liners have been engineered to slide instead of roll and to run smoother and quieter than recirculating ball bearings. Our gantry robots are also lightweight, clean, quiet, corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free. They provide rapid ROI, cost up to 40% less than traditional gantry robots and can be easily programmed using our free robot controller software. igus® offers drylin® ZLW single-axis linear actuators as well as customized drylin® gantry solutions based on customer-specific application and installation parameters. Choose between different stroke lengths and accessories, such as couplings and motor flanges. Typical applications include pick and place, sorting, labelling, measurement, inspection automation and repetitive material handling.
Our gantries are ideal for applications with two sets of parameters: low speeds with high loads or high speeds with low loads. Configure your gantry using our free online tool here . Additional igus® accessories include Inductive Sensors, Mechanical Switches, Motor Flanges, Couplings, Assembly Plates and Motor Cables. We also provide component parts for various robotic systems, including plastic plain bearings, spherical bearings, linear actuators, motors and more.
A gantry robot, otherwise known as a gantry or cartesian robot, is a system that allows movement along linear paths within a 3D space.
Usually our maximum is 3000x3000x750 (xyz), but we can also offer longer strokes. The best way is to send us an enquiry and we will check your requirements.
In principle, all electric motors can be connected. At igus, we mainly use stepper motors.
