The telescopic triflex® R TRX combines a triflex® R energy chain and retraction system in one. The combination enables space-saving installation with an e-chain length compensation of up to 36%. The length compensation also prevents the formation of loops on the robot. The round design in an easy design is resistant and allows the insertion and removal of pre-assembled cables.

The TRX complements the functions of the triflex R series and now also makes them telescopic
Due to their patented design, the chain links of the TRX allow a length compensation of up to 36% to one another without losing the connection or the torsional ability.
The rubber band inside the TRX retracts the links back to their starting point and the retraction force can be adjusted via the rubber band
Weight reduction of up to 83% compared to a solution with a retraction system (RSP)
The TRX design study is currently 100% compatible with the TRE.60.087.0.B, other chain sizes will follow.

Cable routing in the TRX

Since cables or hoses cannot be as long as the e-chain, they are laid within the TRX in a certain principle. (see picture on the right) In addition, the cables and hoses are reattached in the middle of the TRX so that they do not leave the position when pulling on the chain.
Due to the special arrangement of the cables and their additional strain relief in the center of the TRX, the filling can compensate for the length of the e-chain without any problems.

The Proof: The triflex® R TRX in the igus test laboratory

The TRX is currently undergoing the final test phase in the in-house test laboratory. The picture shows the size TRE.60.B, in which the TRX will be available first.
The first 7-8 chain links (starting from axle 6) are normal chain links of the TRE.60.087.0.B. In the further part of the e-chain, this consists of the new telescopic TRX e-chain.
