What was needed: A book scanner for digitizing cultural assets
Requirements: 100% freedom from lubrication and maintenance, maintenance-free dry running, low-noise, cost-effective
Material used: drylin® trapezoidal thread spindle with matching threaded nut in a special design made of the material iglidur® W300
Success for the customer: Lubrication-free drylin® trapezoidal lead screw nuts are used in a book scanner for digitizing cultural assets. The book scanner scans the templates to be digitized by placing them on the device with the side to be scanned facing up. This is illuminated from above, photographed and finally transferred to a connected computer. A special nut made of iglidur® W300 with metallic threaded inserts M4 is used in this book scanner because it is lubricant-free and maintenance-free.
