Rail & Tracking Systems GmbH won the silver vector. Its systems are used whereverfast camera movements are an important factor as, for example, at sport competitions,but also at many popular events such as concerts, stage shows, etc. Due to the increasingdistribution of HDTV, it is necessary to connect the cameras and the broadcastingvehicles with optical fiber cables. Here speeds of up to 14 m/s with very shortacceleration times occur and operational use is carried out at a temperature of 45 °Cin exposure to direct sunlight. The energy supply solution must be able to fulfill all theseconditions in order to guarantee maximum fail-safety. This application has only becomepossible through the use of the latest igus® energy chain cable carriers (here the system E6).
