Furnace for the steel industry

In the steel industry, large industrial furnaces are used that heat rollers up to 1000 °C within 240 minutes. Bättenhausen Wärmetechnik GmbH in Wetzlar is a modern manufacturing company specializing in electrical controls and switchgear as well as the steel construction of these furnace systems. For one project, a completely new type of furnace system has now been designed, which requires approx. 79-90 min. and thus only a third of the usual time to heat the rollers.
Since gas, compressed air and electricity are supplied to the furnace and it also requires various control and measurement system lines, a guide system had to be found for all these lines that is as flexible as it is resistant to the heat in the system. Furthermore, the furnace is movable, which meant that a particularly flexible system had to be used. For this reason, an energy chain from the E4/00 family from igus is used today.
