Nuclear power plant decommissioning

During the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant, 46 feet-high steel tanks had to be milled into smaller metal sections. A milling cutter, used as a dismantling tool, had to be inserted into the tank from above.
The energy supply was provided by two igus® Energy Chain® cable carriers from Series 28 of the E4/00 family. The chain links are ideal for zigzag applications. Continuous-flex Chainflex® CF9 control cables and various hoses were guided in the Energy Chain® cable carriers.
