EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – December 18, 2007 – Igus® Inc., the leading developer of iglide® plastic bearings, igubal® spherical bearings and DryLin® linear bearings and guide systems, announced today that e-Ride Industries, a leading provider of electric utility vehicles, also known as neighborhood electric vehicles or NEVs, uses igubal on each of its automobiles. Designed to fit the needs of a wide range of customers such as residential homeowners for in-city driving, college universities, fire departments, municipalities and military bases, e-ride Industries’ electric utility vehicles are an ideal transportation alternative for short-distance driving.

E-Ride Industries uses igubal bearings on both of its electric-powered models—the exv2 and the exv4—which can reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour (mph) and come equipped with standard features such as steel bumpers, three-point safety belts and a battery discharge indicator.
